Airbus acquires Infodas

By the end of 2024, Airbus will complete the acquisition of Infodas, a German cybersecurity company with annual revenues of €50 million. Infodas provides IT solutions for the defence sector and critical infrastructure elements of governments. This move is part of Airbus’ strategy to strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio and respond to the ever-increasing cyber threats, as well as the need to digitise and integrate its products and systems. The transaction was made possible by the successful work and joint efforts of the management teams of both companies, who share similar values and strategic goals.

Infodas has great potential to expand into new markets and drive further growth by combining its advanced technology and extensive experience in protecting closed infrastructures.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. This not only reaffirms Airbus’ commitment to becoming a leader in innovative cybersecurity, but also underscores their strategic vision to protect products, operations and customers in the face of today’s security challenges.

‘Our partnership is a convergence of shared values, goals and beliefs,’ said Torsten Ecke, Lutz Franken and Carsten Schulz, Managing Directors of INFODAS GmbH. ‘Together, we aim to become the vanguard of digital sovereignty, while expanding our presence in new market segments and strengthening existing ones, such as defence and other industries.’

In 2023, Infodas was awarded major contracts, including the provision of cybersecurity and SGWX solutions for the modernisation of NATO’s Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AWACS), a key component of NATO’s air defence, under a contract with Boeing.
