Infinidat’s enterprise cyber storage security solution
Infinidat has announced a new automated cyber resilience and recovery solution that aims to minimise the impact of ransomware and malware attacks on enterprises.
Infinidat’s InfiniSafe Automated Cyber Protection (ACP) is the first cybersecurity integration solution designed to reduce the threat window of cyber-attacks such as ransomware. Sophisticated cyber attacks, including new forms of artificial intelligence-based attacks, are increasingly targeting enterprise storage infrastructure.
InfiniSafe ACP allows enterprises to easily integrate with Security Operations Centres (SOCs), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) systems, as well as simple syslog functions for less complex environments. A security incident or event triggers immediate, automatic creation of immutable data snapshots that protect InfiniBox and InfiniBox SSA volumes and/or file systems and enable near-instant cyber recovery.
“The convergence of cybersecurity and data infrastructure is prompting IT and security leaders to rethink how to protect the enterprise storage due to growing cyberattacks. Enterprises need proactive strategies, seamless integration across all IT domains, and the most advanced automated technologies to stay ahead of cyber threats,” said Eric Herzog, CMO.
“Infinidat’s InfiniSafe Automated Cyber Protection, which seamlessly interacts with SIEMs, SOARs, or Operational Security Centres, is exactly what enterprises need to take a holistic approach to cyber threats.
“Infinidat’s InfiniSafe ACP automatically creates immutable snapshots of data at the speed of computing to stay ahead of cyberattacks, effectively stopping the spread of data corruption.”
This proactive cyber defence technique is extremely valuable as it allows you to instantly create an immutable snapshot of your data at the first sign of a potential cyber attack. This makes significant progress in ensuring the resilience and recovery of enterprise cyber storage as an integral part of an enterprise cybersecurity strategy. ACP improves the overall cyber resilience of an enterprise by reducing the threat window and minimising the impact of cyber attacks on enterprise storage environments.
It is one of the biggest cybersecurity innovations of the year as it unlocks the full potential of enterprise cybersecurity and maximises the investment an enterprise has made in protecting its business. By integrating with existing security mechanisms and continuous monitoring, the solution bridges the gaps between enterprise cybersecurity and storage strategies, which can change the way IT and information security managers approach enterprise data infrastructure.
Information technology leaders have identified this ability to automate data snapshot teams and data paths as critical to early detection and seamless cyber recovery, minimising the impact of even the most brutal cyber attacks by malicious actors. The enterprise security team can leverage all the information from security operations across the enterprise storage network to create the most sensitive triggers that are often overlooked by existing technologies and techniques.
Allen Shahdadi, vice president of global sales at Sycomp, said: “Infinidat has become synonymous with guaranteed cyber-resilient storage. Infinidat continues to deliver powerful solutions that address critical cyber issues for enterprises and service providers around the world. The ACP solution brings the necessary capabilities to fight cyber attacks more effectively. Automatically capturing unalterable snapshots of primary data can be crucial when your data is being held hostage. Before international cybercriminals, hackers and fraudsters can gain an advantage, Infinidat’s InfiniSafe decisively reduces the window of threat.”
The ACP solution is the latest in a series of cybersecurity capabilities that Infinidat has introduced to strengthen enterprise storage in the face of ongoing cyberattack threats.
The vendor has also introduced the following extensions to its capabilities:
- InfiniSafe Cyber Detection for VMware. InfiniSafe’s cyber resilience capabilities to combat cyber attacks have been extended to VMware environments. The impact of a cyberattack can be easily determined with this cyber detection capability, using artificial intelligence and machine learning, whether VMware datastores and virtual machines have been compromised.
- InfiniSafe Cyber Detection for InfiniGuard. Cyber detection will be extended to the InfiniGuard dedicated backup appliance to help businesses withstand and quickly recover from cyber attacks. This proven capability provides highly intelligent scanning and indexing to detect signs of cyber threats in backup environments, helping to ensure data integrity.
An improved version will be available in the second half of 2024.
As a leader in cyber-resilient storage, the vendor first introduced its InfiniSafe software platform two years ago with a suite of cybersecurity features. This solution has won numerous awards and has been tested by large global enterprises. InfiniSafe’s comprehensive cyber resilience capabilities improve an enterprise’s ability to combat the ever-increasing cyber attacks and data breaches by uniquely combining immutable snapshots, logical air separation, isolated networks and near-instant data recovery in a single, high-performance platform.
The InfiniSafe ACP is the latest example of Infinidat’s expanding innovation. This solution was introduced alongside the launch of the next generation InfiniBox G4 for all-flash and hybrid environments. The G4 Series is an entirely new generation of drives that significantly extends Infinidat’s cyber resilient storage capabilities and delivers up to 2.5 times the performance. The InfiniBox G4 Series introduces a new set of core elements powered by InfuzeOS, the company’s SDS operating system.
